Patrick Davis, Managing Partner, oversees day-to-day operations and serves as a Team Leader for many civil investigations. Patrick also investigates complex Ponzi scheme/RICO matters within the Financial Investigations Division. Patrick's educational background includes a BS Degree in Criminal Justice obtained from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi, where Patrick also completed an extensive internship program with the United States Marshals Service. After college, Patrick entered the private sector where he worked as a full-time process server throughout Harris and Fort Bend Counties. Patrick subcontracted with over six companies during his time in Houston and received multiple commendations regarding his persistent work ethic and professional service methods. 

After moving back to Dallas and founding his own process serving company, Patrick became certified as a private investigator for MJB Group, LLC shortly thereafter. After merging his process serving company with MJB Group, LLC, Patrick eventually assumed the role of Managing Director of Operations. During his career within the private sector, Patrick has worked a multitude of civil investigations, including a complex Ponzi scheme investigation during which a private client recorded a financial loss in excess of $13 million due to an illegal money laundering operation that extended nationwide. For that same investigation, Patrick was mentioned by the presiding Judge in her Memorandum and Opinion filed within the United States Bankruptcy Court – Southern District of Ohio, Eastern Division, as providing “strongly credible” testimony on behalf of the Plaintiff during an Adversary Hearing. 

Patrick continues to demonstrate exceptional work ethic in all of his casework and values the importance of solid client relationships formed through diligent investigative strategies.

Stephen Smith, Founding Partner, specializes in all complex casework related to financial fraud and securities fraud investigations. Stephen has more than fifteen years of experience as a financial advisor, registered investment advisor, and an investment banker. Local to the DFW area, Stephen has worked domestically with clients in all fifty states and internationally in advisory, investment and investigative capacities. 

A graduate of Baylor University with graduate studies at the University of Dallas, Stephen has both a diverse and comprehensive resume including virtually all manners of financial and securities work with individuals, mutual funds companies, hedge funds, venture capital firms, private entities, and public corporations. Stephen's professional advisory work is exclusive to the high-net-worth retail marketplace, but he has provided contractual consulting services to major financial institutions including Merrill Lynch and Bank of America.

Additionally, Stephen’s corporate and international experience has involved handling consulting matters for companies and entities of many diversities, sizes, matters, and industries. Stephen turned his professional focus to financial fraud investigations after experiencing the havoc and injustice of the financial meltdown of 2007 - 2009. The breadth and comprehensive nature of Stephen’s personal and professional network, knowledge base, and insight provides tremendous efficiency and value to the client base of Impact Intelligence and Investigations, LLC.
